How it works
It draws over other apps
Android's draw over other apps permission lets the bubble sit on top of the Register, Inventory or any screen.
The app underneath keeps running
Opening the calculator does not close or reset the order you are working on.
One tap to open, one to close
Tap the bubble for the keypad, tap outside to hide it again.
Discreet by choice
Opacity and position are yours to set, so the bubble stays out of the way.
What it does
Floating over any app
The bubble stays on top of the Register, Inventory, Orders — no switching apps, no losing the current order.
Calculation history
Previous results stay available, so you can check what you typed a minute ago.
Scientific functions
sin, cos, tan, ln, log, square root, power, factorial, parentheses, π and e.
Degree mode
Switch between degrees and radians for trigonometric functions.
Adjustable opacity
Floating opacity makes the bubble as discreet or as visible as you want.
Copy the result
Long-press the result to copy it, then paste it into another app.

- Install the app and open it once.
- Grant the draw over other apps permission when Android asks — without it the bubble cannot appear.
- The green bubble appears in the corner; drag it somewhere that covers nothing important.

Setup scenarios
Each scenario is a complete configuration — follow the steps in order.
1First run: grant the overlay permission
Android needs explicit permission before an app can draw over other apps.
- Install Widget Calculator from the Clover App Market and open it once.
- When the app asks for the draw over other apps permission, allow it — without this the bubble cannot appear.
- The bubble now shows in the corner of the screen on top of other apps.
- Tap the bubble to open the keypad; tap outside it to close.
- Drag the bubble if it covers something important.
2Everyday counter maths
Splitting a bill, checking change, converting a case price to a unit price — while the order is still open.
- Leave the Register order on screen and tap the calculator bubble.
- Type the calculation; use parentheses for anything longer than one step.
- Read the result, or long-press it to copy.
- Close the calculator — the order is untouched.
- Open the history when you need to re-check an earlier figure.
3Make the bubble less intrusive
On a customer-facing screen the bubble should not distract.
- Open the calculator settings.
- Lower Floating opacity until the bubble is barely visible when idle.
- Move the bubble to a corner that no app uses for buttons.
- Enable Degree mode if your calculations use angles.
- Check the layout on the customer-facing display before the shift starts.
Everyday use
What the cashier does after the app is configured.
- Leave the Register order open and tap the bubble whenever you need a number.
- Long-press the result to copy it, then paste it where you need it.
- Drag the bubble aside if it covers a button on a particular screen.
Troubleshooting
Symptom on the left, what to do on the right.
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| The bubble does not appear. | The overlay permission was denied. Open the app again and grant draw over other apps. |
| The bubble vanished after a reboot. | Open the app once to bring it back. |
| It covers something important. | Drag it to another corner and lower the opacity in settings. |
| The app's dialog never appears on the payment screen; Clover shows "Customer is choosing payment method". | Open the Clover Setup app → Payments and uncheck Automatically take payment on Connected Device, so payment is taken on the primary device. |
| Settings cannot be opened or changed. | Sign in with an employee whose Clover role is Manager or Admin. Some apps also have their own Restrict access switch that locks the configuration. |
| The app works erratically, or stops reacting after the device has been idle. | Turn off Battery Saver in the device's Android settings and keep the device online. |
| A change made on one device is not visible on another. | Settings sync through the cloud; give it a minute and make sure both devices have a network connection. |
